The world of digital flexographic printing
Labels are an important part of promoting any business. They are a key factor in brand recognition. At the same time, they provide important information about the product and can have a significant impact on the customer’s purchase decision.
Besides the analogue flexographic press Edale Beta 330, from 2021, the printing house also has a digital line, which includes a Konica Minolta Accurio Label 230 printing press and a DuoBlade SX label cutting plotter.
What are the advantages of digital flexo printing?
With the analogue flexographic press, it is necessary to provide a photopolymer as well as a magnetic punch for each design.
The digital flexographic printing system allows for the printing of short print runs of labels without paying any one-time costs. Also, unlike analogue flexographic printing, the digital one provides flexibility for setting changes or image corrections during the printing process
The Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 230 is a full-colour digital printing machine with the following features:
- The maximum width of the roll is 330 mm
- Up to 1,000 m print run without interruption
- Maximum working speed 23.4 m / min
- Wide range of media – plain, self-adhesive paper and foil (PP, PET, YUPO)
- Module for variable data in labels
- Possibility of overprinting on already printed media
The DuoBlade SX is a digital sticker-punching machine in various shapes and sizes.
- The width of the roll is 40-340 mm
- The maximum diameter of the roll is 450 mm
- Cutting area 320 mm x 400 mm
- Cutting precision 0.2 mm
- Cutting speed max. 80 m/min
- Two tungsten steel rotary blades
- Control of the depth and position of the cutting knives
- Straight line media feed control system
Of course, the advantages of the analogue system are undeniable when ordering long print runs, colours from the Pantone palette, or when printing white colour and using different media.
In our practice, both technologies are successfully applied, according to the specific requirements of each print run.
